Georges en Monique Stahl zijn reeds vele jaren bezig met de materie glas. Vanuit hun studies keramiek, psychologie en filosofie alsmede door hun vele reizen door kleurrijk Afrika ontwikkelden zij een vormentaal waarin zij met magische handen nieuwe inventies uitwerkten. In hun atelier in de bergen observeren Georges en Monique Stahl de wisselende luchten en concentreren zich op hun werk. Zij specialiseerden zich in het ‘Pâte de Verre’: een oude glastechniek die rond 1840 werd herontdekt in Frankrijk. Deze techniek, die verwand is aan het cire perdue in brons, heeft als voordeel dat men exact de kleur en de vorm kan berekenen in tegenstelling tot het geblazen glas. De ‘Pâtes des Verres’ hebben meestal een matte huid en een diffuse transparantie; soms worden delen gepolijst. Hun werk werd reeds door verschillende musea en kunstverzamelaars aangekocht. Zij behoren tot een generatie gerenommeerde glaskunstenaars in Frankrijk en West - Europa. hun meest recente expoistie vond plaats in het Hsinchu Municipal Glass Museum, Taiwan (2002)

Have been active with the material glass since a few years. Inspired by their education on the subjects of philosophy, ceramics, psychology and their trips through Africa, they constituted a form language of their own. In their glass studio, situated on the top of a mountain, the found another source of inspiration. As one examines the objects closely, the rays of lights are shape in a pillar form in most of the objects. The specialised in the technique, called ‘Pâte de Verre’: an ancient glass technique reinvented in France around 1840. This technique enables the sculptor to exactly determine the colour and shape of the glassobject. The ‘Pâtes des Verres’ mostly have a wet skin and a diffuse transparency, on can choose later on to polish certain parts of the sculpture. Their work have been exhibited in several musea and have been bought by art collectors. They belong to the generation renounced glass artists of France and West-Europe.
